At least one-fourth of all businesses that close because of a disaster never reopen. Small businesses are especially vulnerable, because few of them have the resources or knowledge to assess disaster risks and develop comprehensive mitigation and recovery plans. That's why Companion has teamed with the Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) to offer a suite of tools in the Open for Businesssm series. These tools are specially designed to help small business owners reduce their potential for loss from a disaster and to reopen quickly, should they be forced to close.
Using Open for Businesssm, small business customers can do the kinds of disaster analysis and recovery planning normally undertaken by much larger organizations. And they greatly improve their chances of staying in business after disaster strikes. Once you create a property protection and recovery plan, it can be confidentially stored at the Open for Businesssm site, or you may save it to your own hard drive, disk or CD and even print it for hard copy storage. Customers may update plans as often as they like.
The system is easy to use, with simple on screen instructions to guide you through every step of the process. All you need to get started is an Open for Businesssm access code, which you can obtain from your Companion Property & Casualty Group agent, or by clicking here to send us an e-mail. After you log onto the system for the first time, you will be prompted to create your own, unique UserID and Password, which will be your secure access to the system from that point on.
If you have already obtained your access code and would like to log on to Open for Businesssm for the very first time, click new user and follow the on-screen instructions. You will have to select "Click here to Continue" in the list of choices shown near the bottom of the Open for Businesssm Home Page.
If you are a returning user, click here and you will be taken directly to the log-in page that will request your unique Open for Businesssm UserID and Password.
