Companion Property & Casualty Insurance Group was founded in Columbia, South Carolina in 1984 to provide workers' compensation insurance in South Carolina. At that time, we capitalized on extensive distribution channels with independent agencies, growing throughout the Southeast.
As our customer base grew, we grew our product offerings to meet the needs of our customer base. It wasn’t long before Companion Property & Casualty became a strong competitor in multi-line insurance products and solutions. We offer a wide variety of products and services, including:
- Workers' compensation insurance
- A variety of commercial package policies
- Commercial auto insurance
- Commercial property and commercial liability policies
- Third party administration (TPA) services (for workers' compensation, liability and property coverages)
- Insurance for residential condominiums.
We continue to build upon our strong history. Our reach has grown across the nation, as we are licensed in 49 states. We are a program administrator for several state-assigned risk pools. We have developed unique relationships with agencies specializing in niche underwriting products. We have developed coastal property programs. We have also developed relationships with program partners needing access to our AM Best A rated paper.
Companion Property & Casualty has grown into a dynamic insurer known for financial security, the ability to deliver quality service and a willingness to adapt to unique opportunities in the insurance market. In 2012, A.M. Best affirmed our "A" rating. Our core values of competence, caring and character drive our ability to meet customer expectations in a spirit of cooperation and excellence.
